Post Survey Support
When you instruct a Sheffords Home Survey your surveyor inspects the property in as much detail as possible (within the bounds of our terms and conditions of the agreed service) but our visual inspections are limited in some areas and sometimes specialist reports are required. We are not qualified electricians or gas safe engineers for instance. We describe these as ‘further investigations’ which should be undertaken prior to a legal commitment to purchase the property (exchange of contracts). These are detailed in the report. You might want to get these under way to avoid a delay particularly as some contractors are booked several weeks in advance. You may wish to ask your solicitor first if the vendor will be providing the below reports and if you can rely on them.
You can of course organise these yourself but if you wish us to do this using local contractors who have proven themselves to us and our clients in the past we can do this for you. We would reach out to contractors and obtain quotes and then seek your instructions before organising the inspections and reports through the vendor or their agent. You would be responsible for paying the contractors’ invoices directly to them. We charge a fee for this service which is in addition to the survey fee.
