Quinquennial Surveys

Preserving Kent’s Heritage: Quinquennial Inspections & Public Building Surveys

At Sheffords, we understand that churches, village halls, and public buildings are the heart of our Kent communities. These historic and high-use structures require more than just a standard survey; they need a specialist eye to ensure they remain safe, functional, and preserved for future generations.

What is a Quinquennial Survey?

A Quinquennial Survey is a comprehensive review of the confition of the building typically undertaken every five years. For many churches and ecclesiastical buildings, this is a formal requirement, but it’s also a vital "health check" for any public building. The service is provided in two parts; the inspection and the report.

Our reports provide a clear, prioritized roadmap for maintenance, helping your committee / diocese / circuit or trustees plan for the next five years of care. We look at everything—from the integrity of the roof and stonework to accessibility and safety compliance.
